It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye…

It’s hard to believe the school year has ended, and we have to say goodbye to the fifth grade class. To those families who will be continuing with us and our incoming Kindergarten families, we look forward to your involvement and continuing to partner with you next school year on the many school and PTA activities that help further enrich the educational experience of our children.

And lastly, but certainly not least, we must bid farewell to two board members whose children will be moving on from FRES. A big shout out and thanks to outgoing co-corresponding secretary, Marci Isaacs, and PTACHC delegate, Perdita Zapata. We appreciated your service, enthusiasm and spirit over the years and wish you both the best as your lovely girls move on to middle school.

FRES PTA is Looking to Fill One Board Position Next School Year!

The PTA is looking to fill the open PTACHC position for next year! Our PTA designates two members to serve as delegates who attend monthly PTA Council of Howard County (PTACHC) meetings on behalf of FRES. We already have one of those positions filled for next year, and now we need one other person to serve in this role in light of Mrs. Zapata’s departure.

Delegates are the most important communication link between PTACHC and the FRES PTA. Duties include attending monthly PTACHC meetings on a rotating basis with the other delegate and presenting PTACHC information at the FRES PTA meetings. The monthly meetings offer delegates an opportunity to present ideas, debate issues, become better informed and vote on PTACHC business. This position is open to any FRES parent, teacher, administrator or community member who wants to take an active leadership role in the FRES community. It’s a great way to learn about what’s happening in our schools, make contacts with PTA leaders and meet new people in the community. Contact Jennifer Renkevens if you’re interested or have questions.
